Hypnagogia
Hypnagogia, also referred to as "hypnagogic hallucinations", is the experience of the transitional state from wakefulness to sleep. Carl Jung encouraged active imagination as a means to enter a hypnagogic state and access the archetypal imagery in the unconscious. The titles of these images are taken from Jungian terminology. Collectively the series represents a visual metaphor for the internal journey of self discovery and psychic integration.
